Tachometer

The output signal of most common tachometer sensors is a distorted AC waveform which needs expensive custom signal conditioning hardware. Cal-Bay's Tachometer Signal Acquisition system (TAQ) features FPGA technology and embedded algorithms to measure the angular speed of rotating machinery when directly connected to tachometer sensors.

The TAQ features 8 tachometer signal input lines which can be easily expanded to up to 24 on addition of modular signal acquisition cards. With 96 digital and 8 analog output lines, the TAQ can be used both as a stand-along tachometer signal monitoring system or integrated into a larger high-speed machine monitoring and control system.

The TAQ is based on the PXI hardware platform which is the industry standard for measurement and automation applications.
